PawMarks began in 1987 with just the bands by Gillian Marks. Susan Giles purchased the business in 2006. She expanded the business to include all manner of items needed to pamper and take care of coated dogs.

In 2017 Susan added to the business with the purchase of Russo Pet Products which includes leads of all styles, Daffy Chalk Sticks, Daffy Color Enhancer, Awesome Grooming Powder, and Brown Sugar.

Susan got her start in the retail business in 1969 working as a buyer in a large department store. She then went to work for a family-owned business, a major children's clothing catalog and online website. Susan’s dog career started in 1973 with the purchase of a Lhasa Apso. She began showing and it has since turned it into 47 years of showing and breeding. PawMarks is the combination of the two things Susan knows and loves the most. PawMarks bands are manufactured especially for them, and they have an outstanding bow-maker too. Susan has great fun finding and developing new items for the website.
